World Kindness Day - How to be kind to yourself!

When was the last time you said or did something kind for yourself, Fizz Fam? 

We all like to think of ourselves as kind and caring people. But so often this kindness doesn't stretch to looking after ourselves! As we hurtle towards the end of what has been another tospy-turvy, hella' stressful year, we wanted to spend this year's World Kindness Day by sharing our #TopTips to help you look after number #1 (that’s you, Pop Pal!) when you’re not feeling your best.⁣

Stay connected - Keeping in touch with people you care about is super important. Even though the world is starting to open up again, we know that for many, face-to-face hangouts may still be few and far between. Make sure you take some time to check in with your Pals, arrange to meet up if you feel comfortable doing so, and, if you're still feeling isolated, feel free to drop us a line! We’re always happy to chat! 🤗⁣



Remember to stop scrolling! – Sure, we’re as guilty as anyone of this. We love a good dog video and waste many an hour exploring weird and wonderful corners of the internet. However, the infinite scroll can cause feelings of anxiety so remember to pop down the phone from time to time, especially before bed (it’ll help you nod off quicker too!) 😴


Keep active! – Finding the motivation to pull on your jogging gear or get out of bed for that early morning gym class at this time of year can be tough. However, it's definitely worth trying to squeeze some active hours into your day, as the endorphins you'll produce are sure to leave you feeling warm and fuzzy inside! Getting active is a great way to combat stress, fill your lungs with some fresh air, take your mind off things, and help you sleep better! If all those things aren’t a good enough reason to stick on your spandex then we don’t know what is! 🏃

 

Treat yourself – For lots of people, alcohol can be their go-to treat when they need to unwind. However, While drinking in moderation can work for some, for others it can increase feelings of stress or anxiety – and that's not a vibe we're here for at Square Root! When times are tough, we recommend having some booze-free treats that work to lift your mood. From some fancy chocolates to a movie marathon or a nice takeaway, it could be anything! May we humbly suggest some Fizzy Pop? 🤭⁣
